    Crossposted from Global Grind.

In the past five weeks, I’ve been to 20 cities across America.  At every stop along the way, I asked the people I met the same four questions:

Do you know someone who’s out of work right now? Do you believe that people have the right to clean air, water, and food? Do you believe in sustaining a world that will be around for our children, grandchildren, and their children?

    And finally, have you...

    Tour stop: Minneapolis, MN

If you have any doubt that young people are tuned in with the realities of global warming, and how it impacts low-income communities, spend some time with Alex Dempsey.

Dempsey is part of the Climate Change Crew, a group of high school students in the Twin Cities that is empowering residents and peers to address climate change and help build the green economy.

They’re not just talking the talk, they’re… singing the song.  The crew recently won Green For All’s Dream Reborn Story Contest for their song “Change is Needed” (listen here).

“I don’t want earth ruined by the time my brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews grow up to my age.” Dempsey says flatly....

When I announced that I was headed towards Kansas City for The Black Eyed Peas tour, people familiar with the city practically screamed “TRY THE KANSAS CITY BARBECUE!”

This was echoed by every conceivable foodie website, and by locals, the production crew, and the fine people who worked at our hotel.

With the sun beating down my back and feeling blessed by the incredible weather, I took off on my special food journey to sample the world famous Kansas City BBQ. After weeks of cold weather, long work hours, and sleeping in what can be best described as a luxurious cubby hole (or bunk bed) on the bus, slowly cooked barbecue seemed like a lulling treat.

I found myself on the footsteps at Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue, ready to virtually inhale their...

It's been an exciting few days on tour! In Des Moines last week, the Governor of Iowa awarded Green For All and The Black Eyed Peas for our work to raise awareness about how going green can create jobs for communities in need. And I finally met Fergie!

But don't get too jealous, we've still got plenty of ways for you to be involved ;)

This April, bring Earth Day to your Block!

April 22nd is the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, and we are doing it up big!...

I’ve been on the road for 3 weeks now, living the not-as-glamorous-as-I-expected roadie life on The Black Eyed Peas 2010 tour.  No, I’m not a back-up dancer for the Peas (unfortunately).  I’m not an AV...

    Tour stop: Dallas, TX

Green For All t-shirt: Green Cities

There are moments on this tour where I think to myself that we could be doing more.

Getting fans to endorse and support clean-energy legislation with strong equity provisions, and an on-site recycling campaign at each tour stop, is great. It’s absolutely needed.

But for those of us who understand the fragile time window we have remaining to curb our carbon addiction, it can sometimes feel like change is not happening fast enough.

Then I meet with community leaders like Meamya Christie. “It’s a different world down here,” she said with her eyes widening....

    Tour stop: Tulsa, OK

It was a day of many firsts: the first day of spring, the first time I’ve seen snow blow from every conceivable direction, and the first time I got to wear a blinking birthday tiara, compliments from our green tour partner, Music Matters, and my tour bus mates.

Despite the frigid conditions outside, the energy was bursting at the seams within the doors of The Bok Center.  Meet Gwen Goff and Corey Williams: longtime friends, sustainability enthusiasts, and among the friendliest people Oklahoma has to offer.

It starts around the dinner table

When I asked about Sustainable Tulsa, both friends lit up like a Christmas tree. “I love Sustainable Tulsa!” Gwen exclaimed, “Oh, it...
